New Nexus Imprint Fingerprint Login Added To PayPal Android App
Majority of us who operate a verified PayPal account which receives and send money (including me) must have seen Fingerprint support on PayPal's Android application. This Fingerprint feature has been on even before the release of Android Marshmallow, but it was only supported to some Samsung Galaxy smartphones, i.e: some models based on Samsung's Fingerprint SDK. The good news now is that, PayPal Android app now gets a proper fingerprints login support on Android with Nexus imprint.
There is a new version of PayPal Android app which is the v6.5.1. It has a new Fingerprint option under Login and Security that allows you use the same Fingerprint ID you are using to unlock your phone to log into your PayPal account. Isn't that interesting? As you won't be inputing your username and password every time you want to log into your PayPal account.
After you must have enabled this feature on your PayPal account, you will henceforth be logging into your PayPal account using your Fingerprint. This is likely an alternative to PIN logins and it will prevent you incase you don't remember your PIN.
WHAT DEVICES ARE SUPPORTED FOR FINGERPRINTS LOGINS?
The supported devices for fingerprints login on the latest PayPal Android app is any Fingerprint enabled Phone.
Paypal doesn't allow screenshot directly, so below is the photos Artem took.
According to source, Paypal added that, it will be using OneTouch to let you make payments and also checkout in third party applications using your Fingerprint as you won't be needing to Login again or insert your Billing details. This feature will only work if the Merchant(s) has support for this feature.
WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION OF PAYPAL?
Looks like the latest version 6.5.1 is not fully out on Google playstore, so you might need to exercise some patience and keep checking on it or probably download it on APK Mirror Here.
