Whatsapp Testing Support for YouTube Playback Inside the App

According to source -@WABetaInfo-, Whatsapp is currently testing a new feature that allow you to watch YouTube video directly on Whatsapp chat without Whatsapp launching the YouTube app.

The feature enables playback to be launched in a picture-in-picture window, while also offering functionalities like pinch-to-zoom, full screen view mode, and hide ongoing playback to continue reading messages in chat.

Moreover, if you switch to other chats, any ongoing playback will be stopped. Currently, the feature won't be available for the Android and Windows users. Only available for the iOS users with supported devices including the iPhone 6 and above.

For now, it's still in its testing mode. Once it's ready, all supported iOS devices will receive this new in-app YouTube playback feature.
