How to Create And Unzip a Zipped file on MacOS
Have you ever tried to create a ZIP file on a MacOS and found it a little bit hard? We all know how easy it is to create a ZIP or RAR file on Windows OS.
Incase you don't know what Zipped file is; Zipped files are files that have been compressed to cut down on the file size, thus making them easier to upload and download or even share.
HOW TO CREATE A ZIP FILE ON MAC OS
MacOS has a built-in utility for compressing and unzipping files. Therefore, creating a ZIP file on a Mac is quite simple. To do that, first find the file or group of files you want to compress. For a single file, simply right-click it and select Compress. Automatically, a ZIP file will be created in the same folder as the original, which will still be present.
To compress multiple files into one ZIP file, select them all, then right-click and select Compress X items, with X being the number of highlighted items. A single Archive file will appear in the same folder as the original files.
That’s that for creating a ZIP file.
HOW TO UNZIP ZIPPED FILES ON MAC OS
Now, to unzip a zipped file is just as easy as creating one. All you need to do is right-click the ZIP file you want to unzip, then hover over Open With. Next, select Achieve Utility, or a third-party unzipping program if you have one. Automatically, MacOS creates a new folder containing the zipped files in the same location as the original file.
That's all. I hope you found this post useful. Please share and leave a comment below.
