Twitter Lite Finally Arrives as an Android App, Download Here
Twitter Lite was released early this year 2017 as a Web App which can be added to your device's Home screen via Chrome browser. This version of Twitter came as a Shortcut web-app and not a stand-alone app.
The news now is that, Twitter has officially launched the standalone app of its Web-app Lite version called Twitter Lite. This app is available on Playstore and sadly, it's only available for the Philippines.
Twitter launched its Lite version for those with poor network connection. This app has almost the same functionalities as the regular Twitter app (including push notifications). The interesting thing about the app is the fact that it's very Lite, consume less data, battery, space and also has Data Saver unlike the regular Twitter app. Unfortunately, Twitter Lite app doesn't have support for switching between accounts.
According to Twitter;
The Twitter representative went on to say the app was "an experiment," and the company is still evaluating on bringing it to other markets. Like many other 'Lite' apps, Twitter Lite specializes in using as little cellular data as possible, even including an extreme Data Saver mode that only loads images and videos when tapped on.
If you live in the Philippines, you can grab it from the PlayStore Here.
There's more, i just discovered that Twitter Lite app is available on ApkMirror, so you can go ahead and download it even if you live outside of the Philippines. Download Twitter Lite from ApkMirror here.

According to Twitter;
"The test of the Twitter Lite app in the Google Play Store in the Philippines is another opportunity to increase the availability of Twitter in this market. The Philippines market has slow mobile networks and expensive data plans, while mobile devices with limited storage are still very popular there. Twitter Lite helps to overcome these barriers to usage for Twitter in the Philippines."
