Instagram is still adding more and more features to its platform. Just few days ago, Instagram added the ability to create stories and save posts on their mobile site, and now, they've announced yet another interesting feature.
No doubt, Instagram has totally killed off Snapchat by stealing all its features, and it's got a lot to do with the strength of its stories and live video features.
The latest version of Instagram v24.0 now has a new feature that allows you request to join a friend's live video. There's a new "Request" button which has been added to the comments section of live video, so you can join a friend's live video.
You will see yourself in the live stream after your friend accepts your request to join his/her live video. If you are accepted, you'll be added to the live stream.
You can ask to join by tapping the icon with two smiley faces, at that point, your friend will be notified of your request, and then will be left for them to approve or deny your request. If they accept, you'll get a moment to prepare before the video splits in two and you're live alongside your friend. Interesting isn't it?
The original creator of the live video can choose to invite friends who are watching in the same way by tapping the double-smiley button. Anyone can leave at any time, so it's no problem if you just want to stop by briefly and say hi. As with any live video, you can choose to share it to your stories or discard it when you're done.
Where Can I Download/Update Instagram?
The feature has been rolled out on the latest version of Instagram v24, which is now available on Playstore and ApkMirror. Though I've updated mine but yet to test out the new feature.
