Xiaomi Redmi 5 Phone Specifications and Price

There have been different leaks online about the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, but now, the company has officially announced both devices at an event in China.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus looks alike in terms of design but difference in specifications. Though both phones comes with a FullView 18:9 aspect ratio displays, big batteries and quite affordable prices.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 has a 5.7” screen with 18:9 ratio and HD+ resolution. The chipset is Snapdragon 450, built on the 14 nm process technology. It features an octa-core CPU, clocked at 1.8 GHz.

The memory versions are 2 GB RAM with 16 GB storage or 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage. There is also microSD on board that holds up to 128 GB more.

Although the phone comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat, the user interface is the latest stable MIUI 9 that brings some sweet features like an intelligent assistant and picture-in-picture mode.

There are two cameras - one 12 MP on the back and another 5 MP on the front. Both are coupled with a LED flash, but the setup on the back has the fingerprint scanner to keep it company. The battery is 3,300 mAh which is not that bad.
