WhatsApp releases Voice Recording Lock Feature

Finally, WhatsApp is testing voice recording lock feature after several rumors. The new voice recording lock feature allows you to record voice note while doing other things.

Previously, when recording a voice message, we had to press and hold the microphone while talking and then release our hand to send the voice message. It can be annoying, but now it's all over.

This new feature is currently for Beta testers and bumps a new version v2.18.102. Actually, the lock won't show up immediately after you start recording a voice note, but after a few seconds it will appear with a little hint that sliding up will lock the microphone on.

Once you click the microphone icon to record a voice note, you will notice a change; the time floats to the left, a cancel button will be in the middle and a send button on the right. This is really a welcome development from WhatsApp.

Like i said, it's currently available on Beta version of Whatsapp (v2.18.102). You can download from Apkmirror here, or wait for Whatsapp to rollout an update on Playstore.
