Instagram has just released a lighter version of its app called Instagram Lite. This app has been designed to work on low end and Android Go devices as it takes up less storage and RAM.
It's no news that Instagram is owned by Facebook and they are trying everything possible to make their apps work smoothly on every devices.
This is the most reason the company launched Facebook lite in 2015 and launched Messenger lite last year 2017.
Instagram Lite is just 573KB in size which is very very small compared to the size of the regular version. The app consumes less data and start up very fast.
The app is still in testing mode and more features is being added. Some of the features you can find are Explore tab, Stories and more. According to the company, message and share videos will soon be added.

Main Features Of Instagram Lite
- Post photos you want to keep on your profile grid and edit them with filters.
- Share multiple photos to your story. Bring them to life with text. They disappear after 24 hours and won’t appear on your profile grid or in feed.
- Watch stories from the people you follow in a bar at the top of your feed.
- Discover stories, photos and videos you might like and follow new accounts on the Explore tab.
- Coming soon, you will be able to message friends and share videos as well.

ReplyDeleteYeah that was very thoughtful of them, I had to uninstall my instagram app due to heavy battery usage. Same with facebook, I only use the lite version. Now, I will be back on if with this lite version.
