Corning Officially Launched Gorilla Glass 6 To Survive Repeated Falls
It's been about 2 years Corning released Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and now, the company has officially launched a newer version of its ubiquitous Gorilla Glass 6.
As we all do expect, the new Gorilla Glass 6 comes with more cool features. It is stronger than the previous version, and it is built with entirely new material.
According to Corning vice president of technology and product development -Dr. Jaymin Amin, Gorilla Glass 6 survived 15 drops from 1 meter onto rough surfaces, and is up to two times better than Gorilla Glass 5. Under the same test conditions, competitive glass compositions, such as soda lime and aluminosilicate, did not survive the first drop.
As at the time of this publication, no devices has started using Gorilla Glass 6. Hopefully, new phones will start to make use of it.
