How to Backup Installed Apps To Internal Storage/SD Card
Most smartphones, if not all, don't have the ability to backup your installed apps, normally. When you install apps to your device, the options you see under phone's Settings allow you to uninstall, modify, or examine an app's memory. You wouldn't find any option that enables you to backup apps for storage purposes, especially when you don't need certain apps on your device for a particular period. However, there are some third-party applications that you can use to address such a problem.
ES File Explorer, for one, is among the best apps that you can use to achieve backing up all your apps seamlessly. While the storage-analysing app has several interesting features, we shall be looking at how it lets one backup installed apps for future accessibility. An instance where you need to temporarily uninstall an app without having to re-download it cannot be done if you don't store up that app.
How to Store up Apps with ES File Explorer
Backing up to Internal Storage:
- Launch ES File Explorer. On the main interface tap on "App". It will list out all User Apps installed on your device by default.
- Tap and hold the specific app you want to backup.
- At the bottom of your screen select the "backup" option. Return to the main interface and navigate through Internal storage >> backup >> apps, to access your backed up application in the near future.
Backing up to SD Card: The process here is quite different from that above.
- Once you enter "App" on the main interface and you hold down the specific app you wish to backup, tap on the "share" option select "Save to ES".
- Use the pop-up box to navigate to your SD card by tapping the back arrow at the top-left then choose the folder under internal storage.
- Tap on "select" to back it up (Ensure to grant permission to access your SD card data).
- The backed up app's name will be "base", but you can always rename it. You locate it by tapping on SD card on the main interface.
