Check Out The New Deadline For SIM Validation With NIN

The Nationwide urge from the Federal Government for SIM subscribers to update their information with their National Identity Number(s) continues. The last deadline set 9th of February has been extended for those who haven't been able to get their SIM cards linked with their NINs. The repercussions for people who don't adhere to partake in this activity still remains banning of their phone lines.

Recently, the Federal Government shifted the deadline by 8 weeks so that more people will be given an extended period to link their National Identity Number(s). Recall that this motion existed right from last year where the Federal Government declared all unregistered numbers to be blocked after 30th of December 2020. 

However, the strong dissension of the masses regarding the inconvenient date set by the Federal Government to carry out such a consequence caused the deadline to be moved to 19th of January 2021. This was still pushed to the recent date, 9th of February 2021, and after certain considerations, the Federal Government decided to extend it to the 6th of April 2021.

It is not as though people are not willing to validate their SIMs but the heavy crowds in approved centres discourages the motion. As a result, the new deadline was announced to give people more time and opportunity.
